Moving Along with The Times - Challenge

Hi my crafty peeps, It's time for another challenge over at Moving Along with The Times. This challenge is a fun one because you can create anything BUT a card, so I did a tag.

This is using a Julie Nutting stamp and lots of fun elements. Below is a close up of some of the deets...

On her dress, I used felt for the shawl. I also added snowflake punches, rhinestones and of course, glitter. To give added interest, I sprinkled embossing enamel around the edges of the tag, to give a wintery feel. She was a lot of fun to create, now I just have to think of another project to use her in, lol. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Here is my latest bit of inspiration...

I used another amazing image from Julia Spiri, coloring her in with Copic Markers. I am a fan of the steampunk lifestyle and this little lady was so fun to color. For added dimension, I added a few spokes and gears made from wood.

I also colored in parts of the image with a gold paint pen for some added pizazz!!!

Challenge - Moving Along with the Times

Morning my fellow crafters! Today starts a new challenge over at

The theme is Twas the Night Before Christmas, so below is my example. Growing up in Canada and being Canadian, snow played a big part of my life, lol. Christmas time always meant cool winter weather and the world wrapped up in blankets of white.

The dimensional snow is white Flower Soft, but I didn't feel it had enough sparkle, so while the glue was still wet, I added glitter for extra pizzaz!

I stamped the trees using Versamark and white embossing powder. I also sprinkled on Stampendous' Deep Impression White Embossing Enamel to give the effect of falling snow. Just a hint, heat your project from underneath, otherwise the enamel will blow off.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello my crafty peeps, I hope all my American friends have had a happy, safe and wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm posting this card regarding friends, because of the fact that all our family is in Canada (for those of you who don't know, my husband and I are transplanted Canadians), and our friends, who have become our chosen family, were gracious enough to invite us over for Thanksgiving dinner.

The stamped image is from La-La Land Crafts and I colored her in with Copic markers.

The extra stamped images are from other various stamp sets, along with Sizzix dies to match the theme. I ran sacked my stash of scrap paper to create the background and then pop dotted up the image for added dimension. Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting!

Here is my latest bit of inspiration...

I used another amazing image from Julia Spiri, coloring her in with Copic Markers. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that was my inspiration. The fall colors, warm chocolate and brown tones, being with family and friends. I pop dotted her up, for added depth and added flowers from Prima for interest.

The flower centers are rivets from a company called Richard Garay. I like them because they are a heavy metal and lay flat, great for when your mailing your cards.
The saying is from paper by Graphic 45, that I put over a circular metal tag. I pop dotted that up also to create interest. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by Julia's store...

Challenge - Moving Along with the Times

Morning my fellow crafters! Today starts a new challenge over at

The theme is trees, so below is my example. Of course with Christmas around the corner, my card is Christmas tree themed, lol,

I did a watercolor for this card, stamped it with Adirondack black pigment ink, and heat embossed the image with clear powder. Next I used my water soluble markers, specifically Tombow markers...

Above are the exact colors I used. You could use any brand of water soluble markers, such as Stampin' Up or Distress markers. The nice thing, is that clean up is easy. Since the darker markers really leave intense color, I scribbled a bit on my table and picked up the color with my water pen, so as to be able to soften the shade. Clean up happened with soap and water!

Next step is assembly. I used Washi tape for the strip down the card, then used the same Washi tape to cover a mat that I cut out for the saying. This way everything co-ordinated.

The final step was adding glitter because I mean lets' fact it, what is a winter wonderland without some glistening white stuff, lol.

More Christmas Cards Galore!!

Morning my fellow crafters!
My plethora of Christmas cards continue. Below is my latest design...

One of the reasons that I liked this card was, it looks complicated but it was easy to do. First, I cut out the snowflake front using my Silhouette machine. Next was creating the background using techniques developed by Stampscapes owner, Kevin Nakagawa. I used 5 inks and streaked it across glossy cardstock.

Then, only using 2 stamps, stamped the scene, while stamping the front with smaller snowflakes. Then the topper was adding glitter. My poor fur babies will be having glitter in their fur for a week! lol Needless to say, it was a production line!

Super Exciting News!

Morning all my crafty peeps!
I am so excited to announce that I've been accepted onto another Design Team, Moving Along with the Times.

This is a wonderful and talented group of ladies, and there is a new challenge every 2 weeks. There is not usually a sponsor, so sky's the limit. Often there may be a theme or sketch to help with inspirational flow, but you can create anything you want, or use any brand of stamp, paper etc.
My first official posting will be November 9, 2017, so be sure and drop by the blog to check it out.
I'm so grateful and thankful for this opportunity.

Out of the Box

Morning my crafty peeps, As an artist, I enjoy learning new techniques and trying things that are out of my comfort zone. This project definitely falls into that category.
I signed up for a swap called Tassels & Trinkets, being hosted by Frank Garcia, a designer for Prima. The way I read it, you could send your partner trinkets so that he or she could make their own tassels, which was certainly the way I was going to go. Well after reading different comments & posts, it looked like we had to make our partner a tassel or two. I started to get anxious.
Pinterest became my best friend. I tried one or two fabric ones to start, and in a word, disaster. Then I thought a little more outside the box, and came up with, what I think, turned out to be some pretty interesting and cool tassels. I know this pile looks like a hot mess, but wait for it...

I made these tassels, partly out of findings & charms I had in my stash, and partly from trinkets that I picked up at work. (For those of you who don't know, I work at Hobby Lobby lol)

The point I'm trying to make is, don't be afraid of trying new things. It could be a simple matter of working in a different color palette than you're used to or creating a piece of art in a totally different medium. Who knows, you could end up with something wonderful!

Spook-tacular!!

Happy Halloween my crafty peeps, I always have loved Halloween, the cooler weather, the changing of the leaves, the world suddenly having endless possibilities. It's the time of year when you can dress up to be whatever you can imagine. In that spirit, here is a Halloween card, using stamps from Magnolia, a company in Sweden.

I colored her with Copic markers.

The saying is from a stamp set by Prickley Pear, and to add more interest to the flowers, I used my Wink of Stella-Clear glitter pen for pizazz!

The final embellishments were pumpkin flat back buttons, bought at Hobby Lobby in their paper crafting section. I also entered her into a challenge blog over at Magnolia-licious. I hope you all have a happy Halloween and happy crafting.
